We are aware that gender inequality remains as a sensitive policy problem in most co-ops. We declare that gender mainstreaming is good for all co-ops. We declare that co-ops need to adopt, improve, develop, and evaluate policy processes so that a gender equality perspective is incorporated in all policies of all co-ops at all levels and at all stages Ħ. We declare that gender mainstreaming is an attempt to address what is seen as one of the roots of gender inequality ĥ. We declare that for co-ops to thrive, women members must have equal rights and opportunities not only as co-op members but as co-op leaders Ĥ. We declare that gender equality is a fundamental human right ģ. We declare that gender equality and women’s empowerment isn’t a part of development but the core of development Ģ. We, the 400 women and men representing primary co-ops, federations, credit unions, non-governmental organizations, non-governmental associations, co-op development councils, and local government units, gathered here in the Ideal City of the North, Cauayan City, Isabela, to review developments on gender equality and gender mainstreaming, to identify problems and lessons learned, and key challenges on gender equality, and to commit ourselves to gender mainstreaming to achieve gender equality and gender responsiveness.ġ.
